Sein Win, Member of Impulse Model Press Lab Core Committee, Training Director, Myanmar Journalism Institute, and ICIC Myanmar Media Consultant Sein Win was born on March 26, 1971 in Rangoon, in the former capital of Myanmar. He spent most of his childhood in Rangoon. In 1990, he moved to Thailand and Malaysia to help his parents by working as a general worker.

Over two years later, he returned to Rangoon to study Civil Engineering at the Rangoon Institute of Technology (R.I.T, later changed to Y.I.T). Guided by strong sense of justice, he could not remain silent on the grievances he saw around him. Therefore, during his studies, he started write news and features to Mizzima. However, due to safety reasons he started use a nom de plume, Sein Win.

Besides being a freelance reporter and social activist, he worked as site engineer at the Toe Toe Construction and as a tour operator at Dove Travel and Tours before his journalism career.  Sein Win worked for 12 years, from 2001 to 2013, with the former exile media, Mizzima News, as a Leader of news team in print version and online websites. He has strong expertise in the field of printed media, broadcast and photography.

He is a bilingual journalist with good communication and language skills. Win  continues to work as a freelance journalist and mentors several journalists in Myanmar, especially reporting on social issues
