Need Assessment for Women’s Helpline in Shillong: Field Study, Report, and Data Analysis (2001 – 2002)

Need Assessment Study - Women's Helpline ShillongThe main objective of the survey was to find if there was a genuine need for a helpline service for women in the city.

The findings revealed that out of 110 respondents, 105 said they would call the helpline if they came across a woman in need.

Most of the female respondents (166, or 84.3%) agreed that they would call a stranger to talk about their problems.

This research study led to the government initiative of creating  a helpline just for women in the region.
