Roundtable Meeting with Thomson Reuters

One of the objectives of our visit to the United Kingdom, was to share our experiences and learn about media collaboration and best practices, in the fight against human trafficking. The visit was supported by the British High Commission, New Delhi.

Round-table consultations and meetings were held, on the use of information technology to share knowledge and build capacities of stakeholders representing the Media, Law Enforcement, and the Legal Fraternity, from North East India.

These discussions helped strengthen and develop strategies to address human trafficking issues globally, under the Impulse Model.

The delegates met with Mr. Steve Lipscombe, Senior Project Manager for BBC Media Action and Ms. Jo Casserly, Governance & Rights Advisor for BBC Media Action.

They also met Ms. Monique Villa, CEO for Thomson Reuters Foundation and Ms. Serena Grant, Director of Trust-Law for Thomson Reuters Foundation on October 26, 2016.

The outcome of the meetings was to collaborate and organize consultations on Human Trafficking Bill of India, train Journalists in India on procedures to report human trafficking cases and Advancement of the Impulse Case Info Centre Software.
